Building Brotherhood in Northern California

Building Brotherhood

The recent re-orientation event focusing on the inception of Tau Gamma Phi and the profound meaning of the Tenets and Code of Conduct of the fraternity was a resounding success. The event featured esteemed guest speakers Bro. Daniel "Toots" Mijares (MDG, UP Diliman 1969) and Bro. Ray Ramirez (MDG, UP Diliman 1972) provided attendees with valuable insights and historical perspectives.
Bro. Toots Mijares delved into creating the Triskelion hymn and started the discussion on the Tenets and Code of Conduct, emphasizing their significance in the fraternity. Brother Ray Ramirez complemented this by exploring the history of Tau Gamma Phi and elaborating on the correlation between the Tenets and the Code of Conduct, highlighting their interwoven nature and importance.

The event also included a four-hour training session, followed by the election for the Central California (CenCal) Regional Grand Council officers. Congratulations to all the newly elected officers, particularly Brother Nathan Nerio, who was elected as the new president. The event was well-attended by leaders from NorCal, CenCal, National Grand Council, and Western Overseas, showcasing a strong sense of unity and brotherhood.
Central California, led by outgoing president Brother Zaren Makalintal, did an excellent job hosting the event. Special acknowledgments were given to NGC Officers, President Andrew Ibarrola, Vice Presidents Neil Dela Cruz and Benjie Fernandez, as well as Western Overseas Governor Blaise Juliano and NorCal President Arnel Lorenzo for their presence.

A heartfelt thank you goes to Brother Gigi Garrucho for providing the venue, and to all CenCal officers and members for organizing and bringing the food. A special mention goes to Brother Bhud Bhud for the lechon, which was a highlight of the gathering.
The theme for the event, "Building Brotherhood," was vividly demonstrated, proving that true brotherhood knows no borders. The spirit of camaraderie and unity was palpable, reinforcing the values and principles that Tau Gamma Phi stands for.

Thank you all for attending and see you all once again in the near future. Mabuhay ang Tau Gamma Phi at Tau Gamma Sigma!
